People’s Choice Eastlands Queen/King is chosen by people of the world. The pageant judges’ remarks are final. (To clarify, People’s Choice Eastlands Queen or King chosen by people of the world contributes to the judges’ final remarks). Voting will take place on MISS EASTLANDS ORGANIZATION website and possibly on MISS EASTLANDS ORGANIZATION Facebook fan page. Voters will be able to purchase as many votes as many times as they want every day until 1st July, 2022. Each vote costs Ksh. 500. 20% of the amount raised by contestant from voting will be granted to each contestant. Contestants can donate to the charity or good cause of their choice. It is important to note that VOTING is one of the vehicles our organization uses to raise funds and support our charity causes. This is who we are and what MISS EASTLANDS ORGANIZATION stands for. Our pageant prides itself on its philanthropic focus, known to have raised funds for entrepreneurial and health causes bettering the lives of some of our Eastlands’ most vulnerable groups: underprivileged youth and young lactating mothers
with special needs.
Contestant’s participation in the voting process is not only about winning the title but it’s also about giving back to the community by demonstrating your selflessness. This year for the first time a portion of the proceeds will be given to contestants so they can donate to the charities of their own choice.Therefore, it is very important to know that it is the responsibility of each and every contestant to contribute towards voting process.

Note PHOTOGRAPHY: You can have your video/photo-shoot sponsored. Most of the past years’ contestants had their photo/video sessions taken at no charge as the photographers get powerful exposure. Photographers can have their credit at the right bottom corner of the picture/video per MR & MISS EASTLANDS photo/video standards. These pictures/videos will be used for media publications, press releases, marketing, and will be posted on MISS EASTLANDS ORGANIZATION’S website and Social Media. The photos/videos will be judged on clarity and quality of photo (not print), personality, grooming, creativity, fashion sense, the contestant’s photogenic potential and ability.
Note SCORING SYSTEM: The judges will be scoring the Contestants using the following criteria: physical appearance, poise, display of energy, charisma, sense of confidence and composure, and overall, first impression and presentation.
SWIMSUIT MODEL AWARD (PICTURE OR VIDEO): Maximum 1-minuteminute video. Be creative in choosing the photoshoot/video locations. The walk: walk towards the camera, when close to camera but whole body is visible, strike a pose (turn both sides), walk back and make a pose before leaving the stage. The swimsuit competition is a prominent segment of the MR & MISS EASTLANDS pageant as most of our prospective delegates are committed to health and fitness. Female contestants will need a two-piece or one-piece swimsuit and high heels. Swimsuits can be traditional, or they can reflect current fashion trends as long as they consist of a short top and a short bottom or a 2-piece active wear with a short top and a short bottom rather than a 2-piece swimsuit. Male contestants will need a swim trunk. You are also welcomed to use accessories: scarfs, jewelry, etc. If you want to be exempt from this competition and have a valid reason, we will apply for your exemption and if granted you will not lose points. – 1st 2nd & 3rd place Award.
BEST EVENING GOWN/ TUXEDO AWARD (VIDEO): Mandatory Competition. Maximum 1-minute video. Be creative in choosing the video locations. Look for classy, elegant atmosphere; example: hotel lobby, beautiful restaurants, historical buildings etc. The walk: walk towards the camera, when close to camera but whole body is visible, strike a pose (turn both sides), walk back and make a pose before leaving the stage. The evening gown/tuxedo can be the best one you own or donated/loaned by sponsors. You will be able to mention the designers name on your video and posts in Social Media. – 1st 2nd & 3rd place Award.
BEST TALENT AWARD (IF YOU HAVE ONE, VIDEO): Optional Competition. Best Talent competition is a solo competition; however, if you need, you may have one partner or one assistant only. It is the best way display your talent. For example, your talent can be singing, playing an instrument, dancing, preforming martial art routine, any exemptional routine with your pet, etc. You should prepare a presentation, and it is strictly not to exceed the 3-minute time limit. Your performance scores are based on your skills, costume/appearance, performance and overall impression. – 1st 2nd & 3rd place Award.
BEST SPEAKER AWARD (INTERVIEW VIDEO): Mandatory Competition. Maximum 1-minute per video. Be creative in choosing the video locations. Please wear a cocktail dress/suit & tie. Video one, question one: “HOW ARE YOU GOING TO USE YOUR PLATFORM IN YOUR LIFE?”. Video two, question two: “HOW WAS YOUR EXPERIENCE AS A FINALIST?”. – 1st 2nd & 3rd place Award.
BEST SPORT AWARD (VIDEO): Mandatory Competition. Maximum 1-minute video. Choose your favorite sport or activity and display it in the most creative manner. This Award is given to a Delegate with the most agility, endurance and flexibility. – 1st 2nd & 3rd place.
PHOTOGENIC AWARD (6 PICTURES): Mandatory Competition. Contestants must submit 6 high-resolution photos before deadline. Photo- shoot requirements: contestant must wear the MR & MISS EASTLANDS sash with the logo visible (photos without Sash will be disqualified, MR & MISS EASTLANDS logos do not replace the sash). Being creative, stylish, having nice makeup and hair, proper lighting and background is a key! – 1st

MUSIC VIDEO ACTING AWARD: Mandatory Competition. All contestants to sing the same full song provided by MR & MISS EASTLANDS and record a video of it. MR & MISS EASTLANDS will create a montage of small clips with each one of you making it into the full song music video. MR & MISS EASTLANDS will create a music video including all contestant’s clips submission with the original song audio (your voices will not be revealed). This is your moment to be a music star! SOCIAL MEDIA GENIUS AWARD (COLLECTED BY JUDGES FROM YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA): Mandatory Competition. As soon as we receive your pageant fee deposit and your place in the pageant is secured, you will be required to announce your new title of EASTLANDS AMBASSADOR in your social media channels such as FACEBOOK, INSTAGRAM, and other ones. You must post at least once a day on each channel. Your posts have to have you wearing your sash. If your post has several pictures, the first primary picture has to be with your sash and the rest of the pictures do not require sash. We will be judging the quality, professionalism, and numbers of likes you get and post engagement with your fans. When MR & MISS EASTLANDS posts any promotional items on Facebook and Instagram, all contestants have to like the posts and share on their MR & MISS EASTLANDS Facebook Fan Page, on the personal Facebook, Instagram and other social media channels. HOW MUCH TIME YOU NEED TO DEDICATE TOWARDS THE PAGEANT?
The MISS EASTLANDS® Pageant has been carefully designed to accommodate our delegates’ busy lives. We understand that you are all multi-taskers, managing your education, jobs and careers, extra-curricular activities, charities and causes, and personal lives. Our program is sensibly distributed so that you can make efficient use of, on average, one hour per week as you prepare to take the stage at the Grand Coronation Gala. EMPOWERING VULNERABLE YOUNG MEN & WOMEN – After managing
Miss Eastlands® for 4 years, and 6 years in the pageant business, we launched the Eastlands edition MR & MISS EASTLANDS® bringing forth bold changes to further empower young men and women while responding to modern-day pageantry demands and meeting the needs of modern contestants. Media have called our new format “The Tesla of Pageants” referring to this is the future of pageants. To pave the way for their futures, contestants are provided a development program that consists of leadership and life coaching by reknown mentors such as Terry Mungai of Ashleys Hair and Beauty Academy, Pamela Gatwiri of PAM NAIL LAQUE, and Jeffery Wilson, CEO and Founder of JW Show as well as awarded a one-year Training scholarship, a world class leadership program. At the finals you will receive a valuable CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION OF THE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM. This certificate will carry a lot of weight when you apply for jobs or prospecting for business, it will set you apart from other applications.
CROWNING THE QUEEN & THE KING & 22 AWARDS:

ELIGIBILITY
Contestants must be natural born males and females within the age range of 18 to 35 and 18 to 28 for female and 18 to 30 for Male. Contestants may be from Eastlands Nairobi and not married at the time of application.
FREE OF CHARGE ENTRY
Due to substantial support and donations we secure from local, national and international sponsors, MISS EASTLANDS is offering a free-of-charge entry into the pageant for all interested candidates.
FUNDRAISING CHARITY EVENTS
You are welcome to organize any number of Charity Fundraising events using the MISS EASTLANDS ORGANIZATION platform as long as you donate at least 70% of the proceeds to the charitable causes of your choice. The rest of the funds can be used to cover the expenses of the event and your journey. The receipt of the amount donated to Charity is required by MISS EASTLANDS ORGANIZATION. You can raise donations not only before the finals but for the whole one year after it.
RAISE SPONSORSHIP MONEY FOR YOU, MORE THAN YOU NEED
NOTE: You can raise donations for you, that’s your money to use. There’s no limit to how much you can raise! The nice, unique advantage you have is that you have all the months before the finals to raise funds and you have one year after the finals to raise even more funds. This gives you a lot of time to raise a large amount of funds for you. Funds are for you to use for thing you need to build your future, use it for your education, for your business, etc. We give you a 45 min training on how to easily get sponsorship donations from people you know and from large companies. If you follow our system, your dresses, evening gown, swimsuit, jewelry, shoes, and more, can be covered by designers. For designers, this is an opportunity for valuable international exposure.
MISS EASTLANDS® ROSTER
Upon joining MISS EASTLANDS® delegates gain long-term membership to the MISS EASTLANDS® roster. Contestants remain members year after year and have the option of participating in paid and volunteer humanitarian projects worldwide through various local, national and world development agencies.
DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
MISS EASTLANDS® Development Program helps contestants build valuable life skills through empowerment coaching. As a student of the program and a fixture on the MISS EASTLANDS® roster, you will gain the knowledge, experience, and exposure needed to successfully attain jobs and training, and secure lucrative side projects that cater to and capitalize on your interests, hobbies and talents. Our Development Program gives you access to weekly or bi-weekly online teachings from world-renowned leadership coaches like Terry Mungai of Ashleys Hair and Beauty Academy, Pamela Gatwiri of PAM NAIL LAQUE, and Jeffery Wilson, CEO and Founder of JW Show. We live in an era where formal education needs to be complemented by auxiliary experiences and accomplishments in order to stay competitive in this highly meritocratic society. Life is indeed a continuum along which one must constantly improve hard and soft skills, and upgrade and expand knowledge and scope of experience. The Development Program is our way of nurturing our delegates’ habit of pro-longed self-betterment. At the finals you will receive a CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION OF THE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM. This certificate will carry a lot of weight when you apply for jobs or prospecting for business, it will set you apart from other applications.
SWIMSUIT COMPETITION
The swimsuit competition is a prominent segment of the MISS EASTLANDS® pageant as most of our prospective delegates are committed to health and fitness. We provide exceptions for girls that cannot participate in the swimsuit competition with no judging scores deducted. In other words, you don’t get penalized for not participating. Swimsuits can be traditional, or they can reflect the active wear trend as long as they consist of a short top and a short bottom. You are also welcome to use one piece swimwear.

If a contestant has a business, MISS EASTLANDS® will help promote it. Not only does pageant participation allow for priceless national and international networking, MISS EASTLANDS® will grant you a free 1⁄4 page color advertisement in its digital program book, which reaches 200 000 viewers and is growing fast. MISS EASTLANDS® will also feature your logo and live link on the MISS EASTLANDS® website and Facebook pages for the duration of your pageant year and one more year. You could attract business from other delegates and their families and friends, especially if you’ve given them an incentive to use your goods and services. In an entrepreneurial spirit, MISS EASTLANDS® actively encourages and supports contestants interested in launching their own businesses.

Secure your place in the MISS EASTLANDS® Pageant by completing our electronic application form at Ksh. 200 only. Please note that if you have been interviewed and accepted as a MISS EASTLANDS® contestant in a previous year or if you are a former contestant of MR & MISS EASTLANDS® you are still eligible for to apply. After you apply, you will be invited to two telephone interviews within two weeks of your application’s submission date, and right after that, you will know if you’ll be gracing the stage on crowning day!
