The charitable organization of Miss Eastlands provides opportunities for advocacy, education and recognition for youth, young women and girls who want to positively impact our community. Miss Eastlands is an organization advocating the “Cultivate One Love Movement” within the Nairobi’s Eastlands.
Our aim is to empower disadvantaged young people to break cycles of poverty and lead change in their families and communities. We envision a society where young people enjoy their rights and contribute to equitable and sustainable development in Eastlands. We do this by nurturing a nature and peace-loving soul, above language and tribal differences, through the loving and the goodness of young men and women.
We raise a call to the society on a large scale, through the annual Mr & Miss Eastlands Beauty Pageant and the Bodybuilding Award and through the Miss Eastlands Organization we have in the past partnered with the office of the president, Embakasi district, County government of Nairobi and World Vision Organization on causes such as national cohesion and peace building while also enabling program Ambassadors to conduct individualized projects in their communities.
OUR GOAL
We achieve our goal through the establishment and increase of the effectiveness and impact on the Savings and Internal Lending Communities (SILC) by strengthening their financial asset and improving the financial asset base of SILC members to invest their loans in productive Income Generating Activities (IGA) identified on a participatory basis – selection, planning and management of IGA.
Research has shown the #1 obstacle for young men and women to overcome in reaching their potential is a lack of self- confidence. By developing self- confidence through MEO experiences, young men and women have gone onto high- profile careers in business, government, finance, broadcasting and entertainment.
